Watty and Travis ended up as joint champions when proceedings were called to a halt by Coolie Hotel security at some ungodly hour of the morning. A full report will follow as soon as all the details get to me. Cheers Poppy
The final ranking tournament has come and gone now it is down to the serious side of business the final playoff and the singles.
BYRON BAY CLASSIC… Got that wrong Dene and Dax were fighting out the semi when I left. Dene got over Dax and the beat Watty in round 1 but Watty got him in round 2 to get the money. Dax 3rd Mr Bean 4th.
Dax has slipped over from Broken Hill and can pot a ball, South Aussie players will know him well, if they haven’t met him they will have heard him. Sorry heard of him.
Before I give a rundown on the day let me say the venue is a always pleasure to play in (unless you get nailed in the 1st round that is) and we give thanks to Twin Towns services club for making it available to us.
Well we all trekked off to Casino on Sunday 18th March (no not jupiters) 30 odd k's past Lismore to give the locals exposure to our 2nd ranking tournament. The local representation was dismal with only Ben Benn and Johnny Latta making the effort to play off. Still the Oxenford Hotel was a super venue with 3 tables, good meals, a poker game and a pleasant grassed area outside for the desperate smokers.
Coolangatta Hotel hosted our 1st ranking event on sunday 18th feb for the year and a good strong field of 35 players tried out.
The ladies and open were combined and it worked well. Thanks to those who travelled to be part of it
