WITH ONLY 9 AND A BIT WEEKS TO GO, EACH STATE AND TERRITORY ARE FINALISING THEIR RESPECTIVE TEAMS FOR THE '07 NATIONALS.
IT IS BECOMING CLEAR THAT THE VIC'S WILL HEAD INTO THIER HOME NATIONALS AS A SLIGHT FAVOURITE.
AFTER LOOKING AT THE VIC'S TEAM SHEET, IT WILL BE TOUGH TO PRY THE TROPHY FROM THEIR GRASP THIS YEAR.

The NSW8BALL open doubles were held at Coolangatta Hotel on Sunday 2nd September 2007. Some pretty handy doubles teams were on hand with top seeds John "Rusty" Wheeler and Joe Seovic leading the way. My partner willie and I copped them in the first round and we couldn`t handle Rustys brilliance and it was into the losers side for the good guys. The top half saw no upsets with Northy/Credo, Higgo/Richo, and Dene/Dax all going through, the bottom half was different with Fisho/Sticks nailing Mel/Geoff ,
NSW8BALL Masters champion 2007 Dennis Watt 2nd Steve Chapman. 3rd Dave Smallwood. 4th Al Kane.
Congratulations to the guys who made the 2007 NSW team. I think we can cause a few headaches in Melbourne this year.
Here is my take on the guys;
All done and dusted. Two days of hard yakka after 5 play offs and we have the mens open team sorted. We have ended up with a good team out of it all. So without going into the pro’s and con’s , who was stiff and who wasn’t the NSW open team is as follows.
Watty and Travis ended up as joint champions when proceedings were called to a halt by Coolie Hotel security at some ungodly hour of the morning. A full report will follow as soon as all the details get to me. Cheers Poppy
The final ranking tournament has come and gone now it is down to the serious side of business the final playoff and the singles.
BYRON BAY CLASSIC… Got that wrong Dene and Dax were fighting out the semi when I left. Dene got over Dax and the beat Watty in round 1 but Watty got him in round 2 to get the money. Dax 3rd Mr Bean 4th.
Dax has slipped over from Broken Hill and can pot a ball, South Aussie players will know him well, if they haven’t met him they will have heard him. Sorry heard of him.
Before I give a rundown on the day let me say the venue is a always pleasure to play in (unless you get nailed in the 1st round that is) and we give thanks to Twin Towns services club for making it available to us.
